Holiday 2009 Trends

Get ready to unwrap a special holiday season. We've got you covered with the latest fashion trends that you'll find at your favorite stores! Not sure what to wear to holiday parties? How about what gifts are truly fashionable this year? It's never too early to get started. The stores are filled with their holiday finest and the promotions are plentiful. Here's a guide to help you get started.

Holiday Fashion Trends

One-shouldered dresses are still hot for holiday. A favorite of celebrities, you’ll have just as much star power in this sexy, feminine look. Pick one up for those parties or a special night out.

Take a break from pointy-toed shoes and slip on this season's round-toed pumps. Buy several for each of your office outfits.

Flat boots. High-heeled boots. Ankle boots. Suede boots. Leather boots…you name it. If it’s a boot, it's in. A new twist to try––buckle embellishments, or thigh-high boots. But only if you dare!

Speaking of boots…boot cut jeans get the boot in favor of this season's cropped skinny jeans.

While we're on denim, it's time to dress it up a bit. Add extravagant, chandelier earrings with a flirty top and high heels for easy sophistication. Or keep your dark wash denims and pair with a tailored jacket for an informal evening on the town.

Get a leg up...colorful and patterned leggings are all the rage.

It's the holidays. So let your makeup get into the spirit. Go dramatic with smoky eyes and easy-to-apply fake lashes, or a sport an overall natural look paired with dark lipstick.

19th century military inspired jackets are fashion must-haves. Think baubles, braids and buttons on British red or French blue military jackets.

It's a mad, mad, mad men's world. Inspired by the hit AMC TV show Mad Men, early 60s fashions are inspiring this season's looks. Classic suits for men and form-fitting, ultra-feminine sheath dresses for women. Taking it to the next level? Add those oh-so-high society hand gloves.

Looking for another classic? The wool coat is now updated to emphasize your shape with a cinched in waist. Find it in classic colors – or for a modern twist, go for something bright – like red, or a fun plaid.

Teal is real! It’s the color of the season, but if it's not for you, other bright jewel tones are also popular.

Looking for accessories?..This is a trend we can all love. This season it’s all about the pearls. But not just the classic rope. Twist them. Layer them. Mix up classic and black pearls. It’s an elegant look with fashion-forward focus.

Gold has made a comeback...We love it when it's twisted with silver too! Not for the demure, this season's chunky chain-link bracelets bring something unexpected to your look.

Hot Holiday Toys!

Transformers! Inspired by the hit summer movie, Autobots and Decepticons top holiday toy lists once again.

Retro is cool! Legos, Tinker Toys, Barbie…there’s a reason for their staying power. Kids love 'em.

Toy Story 3 is getting ready for its 2010 summer release, but Woodie, Buzz and the gang are already gracing toy shelves this winter. Look for toys inspired by these favorite characters.

Project Runway hits the toy shelves. Look for an abundance of fashion designer toys in all varieties and for all ages.

Hello, Kitty! Yes it’s hello again for this all-time girly-girl favorite. Her comeback is just in time for the holiday season.

Prepare for your next Nerf battle. Lazers, blasters, launchers and more. Nerf rules!

Do you believe in fairies? Tink stars in her own brand new movie and Tink and friends––and their Pixie Hollow-themed toys––are everywhere this year!

Starter boards, pro boards, longboards, mountainboards…there’s a skateboard for almost everyone. You can even buy backyard ramps for your enthusiast.

Go, Diego, Go! This popular Nickelodeon character joins Dora as a pre-school crowd favorite. Find toys featuring both characters on toy shelves everywhere.

Leapfrog TAG, Leapster2 and other Leapfrog products are great gifts that help kids learn while they have fun. Add to your Leapfrog library this holiday season.
